Privacy policy

Kamal's Interview Coach (“the app”, including this website and the web app) is made by Kamal Uddin, an independent developer in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what information is used and why.

Your practice stays on your device

Your progress, notes, STAR stories and audio recordings are stored only on your device. In the web app they are stored in your browser's local storage. There are no user accounts, and we don't collect your name, email address or contacts.

Microphone

The app uses the microphone only when you choose to record an answer. Recordings stay on your device and are never uploaded by us.

Purchases

• App Store: purchases in the iPhone, iPad and Mac app are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have unlocked Pro. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase history for this app and basic device information such as model, operating system version and country. It never receives your payment card details. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
• Website: when buying Pro on this website becomes available, payments will be processed by our reseller Paddle.com, which acts as merchant of record. Paddle collects the details needed to take payment, such as your email address, country and payment method, under the Paddle privacy notice. We receive your email address and order details so we can confirm and restore your purchase. We never see your full card details.

AI feedback

• Built-in AI feedback (Pro, in the app): when you ask for feedback, the text of the answer you submit is sent over an encrypted connection, through our server, to Google's Gemini API to generate feedback. We don't store your answers on our server or link them to your identity. An anonymous device identifier is used only to apply fair-use daily limits. Google processes these requests under the Gemini API terms.
• Your own API key: if you enter your own Gemini API key in Settings, requests go directly from your device to Google.
• Copying to another AI: if you copy a question and your answer into another AI service, that service's privacy policy applies.

This website

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect against attacks. We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and we don't track you across other websites or apps.

Children

The app is designed for adults preparing for job interviews and is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Open Settings in the app and choose Reset all data to erase everything stored on your device or in your browser. Deleting the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, also removes it. For purchase records held by RevenueCat or Paddle, contact us using the details below.

Your rights

If you're in the UK or EEA you have rights under data protection law, including the right to access and delete your personal data. Because we keep almost no personal data ourselves, most data can be managed on your device. Contact us for anything else. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
